The Story Behind Devil's Fire (Back Label)

English Translation

First Word from the Pastor

“And the Serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God actually say? … And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent who is called the Devil and Satan, the Deceiver of the whole world – he was thrown down to the earth and his angels were thrown down with him.”

(Genesis 3:1; Revelation 12:9)

Latin Version

Primum Verbum a Pastore

“Sed et serpens erat callidior cunctis animanibus terrae. quae fecerat Dominus Deus. Qui dixit ad mulierem, ‘Cur praecipit vobis Deo?’ …. Et proiectus est draco ille magnus, serpens antiquus qui vocatur Diabulus et Satanas qui seducit universum orbem proiectus est in terram et angeli eius cum illo missi sunt. ”

(Libri Bresith et Apocalysis)

Commentary from the Pastor

Adversary intruded into the bliss of Eden. That introduction reveals his essential character and strategy. He enters in disguise, having taken on the sinuous form of the beguiling serpent, an hypnotic combination of brilliant color and sinuous movement. His bitter malice is concealed behind a mask of innocent concern. He poses as nothing more than a friend whose only interest is the welfare of mankind as he leads unsuspecting Eve down the fatal path of doubt and disobedience. Thus has it been throughout our long pathetic history. Diabolos, the Slanderer, is a mask with no true face behind it. Everything about him is a lie. His only motive is bitter hatred – a burning desire to strike back at the Creator who banished him and his demons from the glory of heaven to the burning flames of hell. His intent is to hurt God by damning the unique being created to experience God’s love. But in a way that the Devil could never have imagined, God will provide the way to rescue His fallen creatures from the fires of Hell. – Dr. Laurence L. White
