Thunderpants – The Baddest 80’s Cover Band – August 17th, 2024

The Mighty Thunderpants are gawds of 80s party rock! Formed in late 1980, Thunderpants would claim to record many of the 80s’ best music, but they tend to lie (a lot). With the 80s coming to an end and the rise of boy bands, the rock stars of Thunderpants would go into hibernation (like for real, Han Solo style).

In 2005, Hurricane Duran Duran blew through Houston. The damage caused by the hurricane to a bunker under the Astrodome caused the carbonite tombs to dissolve, releasing the Mighty Thunderpants.

With no real skills, not even musically, Thunderpants set out to dominate the music industry again as the baddest 80s band in the world. While unsuccessful and continuing to lie about the music they did not create, the band has been successful in playing in nearly every venue in the city as well as opening for greats such as Biz Markie, Vanilla Ice, and Collective Soul (we played on the same stage).
